Britain recycles! Biggest Recycle Week yet hits the nation
Recycle Week 2018: 24 – 30 September
Recycle Now launches its biggest and boldest Recycle Week yet – check out how to get involved and find out more about what big name brands and retailers are doing to support the campaign
We are a nation of recyclers. In fact, more and more people are recycling. But now we do it because we know it matters. From Blue Planet II, to major developments towards reducing unnecessary plastic, this year people have been motivated to care about the environment in a way they never have before.
Every single person can help tackle pollution and make our planet a better place. Let’s do it together, by recycling.
Why? Because Britain DOES recycle. Because it matters.
An eight metre ‘WE DO’ sign has toured the country and been photographed in various locations, highlighting that ‘WE DO’ recycle as a nation. With billboards appearing across the nation, and a large scale digital campaign, the 15th annual Recycle Week is set to be the biggest and boldest yet; celebrating the fact that more and more of us are recycling.
Iconic buildings across the country will also be lit up green to show support for Recycle Week – keep your eyes peeled!
But the fun doesn’t stop there – household-name brands and high street retailers are also getting in on the action...
Coca-Cola is launching its #CokeDunks campaign in Recycle Week to raise awareness of recycling bottles – a host of celebs will join the fun by slam-dunking their bottles in the recycling, including stunts from pro street basketball player, Tom ‘Conman’ Connors. They’ll also be running TV ads throughout Recycle Week.
Recycle Week vinyls will appear in the windows of selected H&M stores to show their commitment to recycling.
Meanwhile John Lewis will be running in-store and online offers, and giving away prizes in our #SpotTheSwoosh competition to bring even more fun to the week.
Quorn will also be dishing out prizes and spreading the word about recycling.
Tesco and Danone will be partnering up for the Week by running fun customer engagement activities in selected stores.
Cardiff City Football Club will be showing their support for the campaign by saying ‘WE DO’ recycle!
And Brecon Carreg will be adopting the Recycle Now swoosh in their logo especially for the Week.
Other brands showing their commitment to recycling this Recycle Week include Heinz, Marmite, Sure, P&G, Co-op, Aldi and Asda – check out their social channels to follow their updates throughout the week.
