Our visit to 10 Downing Street
Meet the crew you can rescue from the rubbish

Rescue Fitz!
Bonjour, darlings! Call me Fitz. I’m ready to be recycled into a champagne bottle. But if you put me in the rubbish bin there'll be no fizz.

Rescue Dee Dee!
I’m Dee Dee and I’m full of energy! Did you know I could come back as part of a train? Buzzing! So please don't send me on a one-way trip to the rubbish bin.

Rescue Rey!
I'm Rey, and I just can't wash away my worry! So many of us trigger spray bottles end up in the bin. All I dream of is to be recycled into something useful.

Rescue Hube!
Hube's the name, and I want to be recycled into an egg box. But unless you rescue me from the rubbish bin, I’m scrambled. Let's get cracking!

Rescue Yogi!
I'm Yogi and I'm a spoonful of joy! I want to be recycled into a child's toy, but unless you rescue me from the rubbish bin, there’ll be no toy story for me.

Rescue even more recyclables
If you add these fab five to your recycling, you'll be helping save valuable resources. To go even further, double check you're recycling all the items you can at home.
Join the mission to rescue recyclable items from the bin
UK households are wasting one billion items every year that could be recycled. Millions of recyclable bottles, sprays and toilet roll tubes are facing incineration, or landfill instead of being transformed into new products.
Britain’s most binned items include:
743 million yoghurt pots
84 million plastic trigger spray bottles
59 million aftershave/perfume bottles
126 million aerosols
Toilet roll tubes
While nine out of ten people regularly recycle, nearly eight out of ten put one or more items in the rubbish bin that could be recycled.
Become a recycling hero and make sure that every yoghurt pot, spray bottle, aftershave and perfume bottle, deodorant and toilet roll tube in your home gets recycled.
Recycle Week 2024

Our recycling heroes head to No. 10
Recycle Week Ambassador JJ Chalmers, WRAP CEO, Harriet Lamb and our crew of characters took to 10 Downing Street to ask the Prime Minister to help them inspire the public to recycle one more thing!
