Recycle Week campaign
Now in its 17th year, Recycle Now's Recycle Week campaign is a celebration of recycling.
The aim of the week is to encourage everyone to recycle more, by helping to understand the benefits of recycling items from all around the home and by offering tips and suggestions to make it easier to recycle!
Each year, Recycle Now encourages the nation to get involved with its increasingly popular Recycle Week campaign, by taking part in national and local events to celebrate the fact that more and more of us are recycling.
And each year the campaign gets bigger and better with increasing numbers of high street brands and well-known retailers and manufacturers wanting to join in.
We can all make a difference
In 2018 the nation realised that recycling can help us solve some of our biggest environmental problems. In the wake of the increased awareness of issues, such as plastic in the ocean, we realised that more and better recycling can help with pollution and climate change. We realised that each and every one of us can make a difference just by making some small changes.
This year's theme: Recycling. It’s in our own hands
In 2018 Britain woke up to recycling.
2019 is the year we’re taking action.
Our theme will be 'Recycling. It's in our own hands' and the campaign will run from 23rd to 29th September.
The year of the environmental activist
2019 is the year of the environmental activist. We’ve seen this through protests and marches. From Greta Thunberg to Our Planet and Sir David Attenborough – environmental concerns have never been so front of mind for the nation. We want to capitalise on this as it’s a golden opportunity for us to inspire and support citizens to take action and make recycling the new norm.
Recycle Week 2019 will be full of action asking people to rinse, crush, squash, sort and separate. In the bathroom, the kitchen, the office and the great outdoors. Getting them to do something powerful and radical that will really make a difference.
