What to do with

Gardening tools

Many gardening hand tools can be re-used by others, even if they need simple repairs. If they are beyond repair though, you can sometimes recycle them at household waste recycling centres (HWRCs), although it is best to check.

Gardening hand tools, including those that need simple repairs, can be donated to organisations that can re-use them.

For example, The Conservation Foundation has a project called ‘The Tool Shed’ which accept donations of gardening hand tools, works with prisoners to refurbish them and give them skills, and then passes them on to schools free of charge.

Or Workaid collect and refurbishes tools and equipment which it then ships to use in Africa.
